![]() Between Fall and Spring: A refreshing breeze of winter jazz in JerusalemThe eighth international jazz and alternative music festival, “JazzGlobus”, will be held between the 30th of November and the 5th of December in Jerusalem.The festival will include 5 concerts, featuring musicians from Italy, Russia and Norway, amongst them: - One of the finest pianist in Europe and a professor at the music academy in Oslo, Michael Halperin; - The leading Italian Jazz triplet, Managed by Tony Panchelo; - Mauritzio De Polivio, a well-known Italian guitarist; - A unique trio of wind instruments, “FreeBrass”, managed by the famous trumpeter Sergei Pronia of Russia. The festival’s program will also include several joint projects featuring collaborations between Israeli and foreign musicians: - The quartet of Oleg Kotzenko of St. Petersburg will perform alongside pianist Shimon Lipkovitz; - Leonid Sanderski’s quartet will include the Russian guitarist Alexei Degosrov; - Robert Anchipolovski and Gregory Rivkin will perform together with Panchelo’s triplet from Italy; - The pianist Michael Agra will perform alongside the “FreeBrass” triplet. A considerable part of the festival’s participants are world-renown musicians such as: Asaf Hakimi, Yonatan Volchek and Yuval Cohen, who have performed in the United States and are part of the elite jazz players of New York – the jazz capital of the world. The festival will also feature one of Israeli’s veteran jazz musicians, saxophone player Boris Gammer as well as composer Waczeslaw Ganlin – Founder and musical director of the festival. The festival will include 12 groups and will also include a special concert by the “Jerusalem Swing Band”, a children’s orchestra of “Sadna” conservatory, conducted by Boris Gammer. The festival’s participants and the instructors of the conservatory, who are some of the finest Israeli jazz musicians, will perform alongside the children.
